Author, Cynthia Clement Cynthia Clement was born in Stratford, ON, the eldest of six children. Her family settled in Fort Erie, ON when she was six. After high school, she attended McMaster University and earned a BSc in Biology and BA in Anthropology.

University helped to focus her passion for history and writing. It would be several more years before she would get a chance to pursue these dreams, though.

She accepted a job with a large communications company and moved to Toronto, ON. Northern Ontario. Wood fueled outdoor Finnish sauna. There she met her former high school sweetheart. They began dating and two years later married. Soon after they left their jobs in the city and moved north.

Fall colors on Cynthia's christmas tree farm. They bought a farm near Algonquin Park and began to grow Christmas trees. After several years of back to the land living, Cynthia’s husband accepted a job in Northwestern British Columbia. The area was beautiful, mountainous, and rugged. They lived on the shores of the picturesque Skeena River in the heart of Hazelton BC. Hazelton BC. The confluence of the Skeena and Bulkley Rivers. Every summer they would drive back to Ontario to prune the Christmas trees. There was only one thing missing, the beautiful fall colors and spring syruping of the maple trees. They decided to move back east.

Frankie Jr. and Frankie Sr.The addition of their son to the family meant a more settled lifestyle. They moved to Northern Ontario. It was at this time that Cynthia discovered Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way. This gave her the impetus to get serious about her writing.
